Lakes and Fishing
Minnesota is reported to have 10,000 Lakes and Camp Olson has five of them!
The main Camp buildings are located on the northwest corner of Little Boy Lake which is 1373 acres on which is our swimming beach and marina for sailboats, and other larger watercraft. The Adventure Outpost buildings are located on Cooper Lake which is 136 acres and a perfect site for our new fishing pier and launch site for many of our canoe trips. Entirely within the boundaries of the Olson property are the 30 acre Shurd Lakes. Through the years these three small lakes have been one of the signature spots in the memories of all who have been to Camp Olson. They are in virgin condition with no shoreline development. Various campsites provide beautiful safe locations for overnights with brilliant stars shining and Loons calling softly across the lakes. Fishing in the lakes is a very popular activity and it is easy to catch a fish in the Shurds. In total Camp Olson enjoys over 5 miles of shoreline on our five lakes so water related activity abounds!
